I have never really had any major issues with my skin, but 8 months after I gave birth to my little one, I began to experience itchiness, dryness and redness on my eye lids and around my eyes. I initially sought out help from my primary doctor, which then led to a referral to a dermatologist, which led to a diagnosis of psoriasis and other allergies, and several prescribed topical creams. After 6 months of ointments and creams, my condition was much worse. My eyebrows began to slowly fall out and the rash had spread to other parts of my face, my hands, and elbows. Through a referral from a friend, I scheduled an appointment with Janet. She was very thorough in her examination and asked a number of questions. A skin test with the dermatologist concluded that I was allergic to a number of environmental elements, and Janet determined differently. Janet gave me several options for treatment (acupuncture and herbs) and was very considerate of my own openness and willingness to try different types of treatment. At this point I was willing to try anything. I saw her every week for a few months. At each appointment, we talked about how I was doing and if I had noticed any changes or improvements with my skin. She was able to help me pinpoint factors that may have contributed to my skin allergy. After about 3 months, there was a significant change in the condition of the skin around my eyes and on my face. My eyebrows began to slowly grow back, as well. I am still amazed at how effective and quick the healing process took place. I have not had any more flare ups on my face since it has healed. As for the other areas on my hands and elbows, I have experienced some flare ups, but as of late have shown much improvement and my overall skin health has improved dramatically since I started seeing Janet. She has a pleasant and calm bedside manner, and I fall asleep immediately after she finishes the acupuncture treatment and closes the door. I am continuing to see her once or twice a month for overall health maintenance. Janet has not only helped me with my skin ailments, but also with addressing how to deal with daily stressors and the health affects of different foods. She has also helped me become more conscious of the importance of my own actions (or lack of) in my overall health (ie staying hydrated, regular exercise, etc.) I appreciate that Janet focuses on prevention and holistic health maintenance. I do not know what I would have done without her expertise. Other pluses: Emailed appointment reminders and health tips, automatic bill payment, and payment plans (if your insurance does not cover acupuncture) are also helpful and convenient. Janet\'s office is also conveniently located near the Powell BART Station and Ellis/O\'Farrell Parking Structure.

I bought my first session with Janet through Groupon because I needed an acupuncturist close to my office. Happily, not only is she conveniently located for anyone downtown, she\'s also a fantastic practitioner. Over the past couple of years, we have tackled a number of issues together including anxiety and troubling sleeping, and I am very definitely better off now than I was prior to starting treatment. ??I have been so impressed with Janet that I INSISTED that my partner start seeing her after she sustained a back injury doing weights. She has also been thrilled with the results- we both wholeheartedly recommend seeing Janet for any issues you may have!

I have been seeing Janet Co for years for acupuncture. She as helped me tremendously with various issues. Although I don\'t want to go into my list of ailments, (lol) I can say when I walk in, I am a ball of nerves, stressed and overwhelmed, and I leave feeling calm, settled and like I can tackle the world. Janet is a calm and soothing person, who creates this feeling for her patients, as well as always has this demeanor about her. I usually fall asleep during treatments. It is that amazingly deep, blissful, \"lost time syndrome\" kind of \"nap\". I am a huge fan of acupuncture, have seen others for care, but will always prefer Janet. If I could, I would go every week. I too find it pretty weak that others who got a Groupon and were not able to redeem it due to the sheer volume of Groupons sold would give a 1 star. Seriously? She is a one person operation with 2 treatment rooms... do the math. Giving a 1 star for this reason is like going to a restaurant, seeing a long line, leaving and then giving a bad review. Come on....??Try it, you will be hooked.

I am writing this on behalf of my girlfriend who sees Janet regularly for acupuncture treatment in San Francisco. Janet has been very helpful in treating her tendinitis and a variety of other ailments. I was disappointed to see a few one star reviews based on Groupon issues. Clearly Groupon is not meant for many sole proprietor enterprises who cannot accommodate hundreds of one-time new customers in such a highly personalized one-on-one type of business. Diwa is a great alternative or additional service for your self care needs.

I started seeing Janet for fertility issues about 4 months before I began IVF treatment. To make a long story short, I got pregnant on my first IVF cycle! Every session was very relaxing- I went into a hypnotic state each time, not quite asleep but not aware of much other than my body. We also did rounds of herbs (not delicious but apparently effective!) and moxibustion. Janet is really caring and helpful- we spent the beginning of each appointment talking through any concerns or things I wanted to address, and she always had a strong point of view on the action to take. Like many of the reviewers, I also found Janet through Groupon and had NO issues redeeming my Groupon. I was also semi last minute, and Janet was perfectly accommodating. I would highly recommend her.
